As a family of aspiring netballers new to the island, we were in search of some netball activities and training in the St. James area for our girls to get stuck in and enjoy some true Bajan netball. When we discovered there were very few opportunities locally for younger players, we decided to start our own club — a space where girls aged 7–15 can come together to learn, play, and grow their love for the game.​
 
Our aim is to offer fun, inclusive sessions for all abilities — whether completely new to the sport or already playing at school. We hope to encourage more children to get involved in Barbados’s national women’s sport from an earlier age, helping to build skills and confidence in a supportive environment.​
 
The Folkestone Netball Club runs weekly sessions (and will add more as interest grows), providing children with regular opportunities to train, play matches, and simply enjoy being active with friends. Visitors to the island are always welcome to join — it’s a great way for holidaymakers to experience a bit of community sport during their stay.​
